Maki Usui
Maki Usui is an MSW seeking student at the University of Michigan School of Social Work with a Community Organization/Children and Youth concentration. She has lived, studied, and worked in multiple countries including Japan, India, USA, and Rwanda, and these past experiences have inspired her to pursue a career in global social work. Her Kinyarwanda language skill has contributed to building rapport and partnership with the Congolese refugee community in Michigan. She hopes that her assistance would help the research advance brighter educational pathways for Congolese youth and the greater refugee communities in Michigan and beyond.
